The Halsey House Bed & Breakfast is a perfect romantic getaway, featuring five luxurious guest rooms as well as comfortable and graciously appointed common rooms. Built in 1829, the Halsey House is a Federal style mansion which is listed on the National Historic Registry. The inn has been meticulously restored to preserve its rich heritage as well as providing all the modern amenities one expects of a luxury inn including two-person whirlpool tubs.
The house retains its original wide-planked floors, flame-grained doors, beautiful moldings and windows. High ceilings and numerous large windows give a bright spacious atmosphere. Our Common rooms are very inviting with books and games that guests are welcome to use. We offer five luxury guestrooms with private spacious bathrooms, pillowtop mattresses, TV, DVD player, A/C and high speed wireless internet. Close to Ithaca, Taughannock Falls, the Cayuga Wine Trail, Cayuga Lake, Cornell University, Ithaca College and the Seneca Lake Wine Trail.
Our aviary is home to six exotic parrots: five Amazons and one Congo African Grey. We built an addition on the house specifically so the birds would have their own dedicated room where their noise and mess would not disturb the guests. Guests are welcome to come visit the aviary when accompanied by the innkeepers.
