The Federal House B & B is located in the charming hamlet of Ludlowville, in the heart of the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York, close to Cornell University and Ithaca College, downtown Ithaca, several wineries and state parks famous for their gorges and waterfalls. Our location is perfect for the outdoor enthusiast (biking/hiking/birding) as well as those seeking a relaxing afternoon (swimming/fishing/reading/picnicking). Or take a short drive to one of the many sights that the area has to offer. We have recently reopened after extensive renovations, providing you with the wonderful historic feeling of our 1815 Federal style home with all of the modern conveniences.
All four of our guest rooms have been newly decorated and have comfortable, supportive mattresses, elegant sheets, and guest amenities provided by Gilchrist & Soames. In addition, each room possesses its own individually temperature controlled unit for heating and air conditioning. Furnishings at the Federal House are a mix of European and Early American antiques. All common spaces are comfortable and welcoming. Choose to play a board game in our parlor, curl up on the sofa and read a book or sit on the porch and enjoy a cup of coffee and read the morning newspaper. All guests delight in the full gourmet breakfast served daily between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. on our country porch, weather providing, or in our formal dining room with an expansive view of our garden. We serve either a sweet or savory option, and all produce and dairy products are carefully selected from our local farms. Special dietary requests are honored with at least a 24-hour notice.
